In order to get the cutscene that shows that this character is still alive you need to talk to Junpei in the dorms at night on at least three out of the four dates. The dates you need to talk with Junpei are:

“I believe in myself” or “It’s just my personality” or “I’ve never thought about it.”

At night, the high school morphs into Tartarus, a giant tower of bad guys. School as a tower of evil to be conquered is practically a trope in anime and manga… Tartarus just makes it real, at the end of the (in-game) day.

Very little else in the original game's story has changed, which isn't for the better in all cases. Athletic club manager Yuko (she manages whatever team you join) carries on about having to pick up after her male charges and comments that at least it keeps her from gaining weight, and women not on the combat team are frequently portrayed as doe-eyed man-chasers or caregivers. Sometimes even the core characters fall prey to sexist tropes.

[12] The player is unable to contact the Navigator (between Mitsuru Kirijo and later Fuuka Yamagishi) in Tartarus Persona 3 Reload to change the dungeon's background music like in the original game, nor is the player able to direct the party to split up and find hidden Treasures and Shadows scattered on the current floor. The party is also able to either walk or fully sprint when traversing the dungeon, but doing the latter also increases the chance that Shadows patrolling the current floor are alerted to the party's presence.[13]
